Annapolis Catio

Every so often, a small project comes along that evolves into a creative and fun exercise for our studio.  Our most recent challenge was to design a screened in porch with one requirement- it needed to be a playground for her cat. As we designed the space, we had to think from a whole new perspective – the “cat’s eye view.” Our solution was to create a “feline superhighway” above, and to integrate steps and platforms into a system of shelves and guardrails for the owner’s use as well as access to the superhighway for the adventurous cat.  Now, both the cat and her owner can both enjoy their new front catio.
