Annapolis Micro-Unit Development

RPH has been working closely with a local developer to design a micro multifamily community comprised of 42 one-bedroom micro-units. The site, which is situated on the outer boundary of the Annapolis Towne Centre affords walking distance to the wide array of shopping, restaurants and other interests at the Centre. Additionally, this location affords close proximity to major highways and to the historical city of Annapolis. Influenced by a new urbanism growing across progressive American cities, this will the first housing community of this building type in the Annapolis area that is designed for those with an interest in living in a highly desirable location within a walkable distance to a wide variety of public conveniences. While the units are quite compact, they are very well appointed and thoughtfully designed with flexible furniture systems, high ceilings, oversized windows and built-in storage areas that transform the smaller spaces into comfortable living environments. Building amenities including a green roof-top terrace and lower level terrace with health and recreational spaces enhance the quality of living in the latest trend in multifamily housing.

Utilizing BIM (building information modeling) in this project has allowed us to explore multiple designs in this early phase that stays within the project restrictions. As we work through the designs with the client, information about the individual units, overall building, and the entire project is updating constantly. This enables us to deliver a better project, with more accurate information, in less time.
