Bayside Bull

Bayside Bull opened their second restaurant in the Hitching Post Plaza Shopping Center located in Lothian, Maryland. While it may appear to be a typical restaurant from the front of this strip shopping center, it is much more when you enter through the front door.

What’s unique to this 3000 SF barbeque restaurant is a wood burning smoker located in the back of the restaurant that is accessed from inside with the actual smoker being located outside under a lean-to roof. There is also a custom open flame grill behind the service counter.

While these features sound simple, there was a significant amount of coordination and life safety concerns that needed to be addressed before the restaurant could open. A specialized hood had to be installed as well as coordination with the local fire department to ensure that fire lane was in close proximity to the smoker and open flame grill.
