Corner House in Eastport
The challenge for this new single family residence under construction in Eastport is creating a big house feel on a small lot.
With concerns from the neighbors that the house also fit in with the surrounding context, RPH provides a solution that not only pleased the neighborhood association, but gives a big house feel maximizing light and views.
The 1600 square foot house, at 2 ½ stories, uses the core of the house for plumbing and electrical, saving the front and back of the structure for the largest rooms full of large windows filling them with light and giving the impression of greater space. A roof top deck covers nearly half the roof but is hidden from the street. This gives the owner a private outdoor space on a small lot.
