Heritage Apartments Community Building

Heritage Community Building Entrance

When Homes for America contacted our office for design services, we were ready to take on the challenge.  Heritage Apartments located in Fredericksburg, Virginia had outgrown their current community space and additional space is needed for community gatherings and youth events. RPH used this design opportunity to create a functional space as well as reinvent the public face of the complex.  When completed, this project will involve the renovation of the existing office and maintenance space as well as a new expansion, clad in brick, to present a more refined finish than the stucco finish prevalent throughout the campus.   A two story projecting brick “tower element” located in the center of the existing façade, large fields of storefront glass and modern entry canopy will also distinguish the complex entrance from the rest of the buildings. A large open space with indigenous plantings including semi-compact crepe myrtles and inkberries providing a complement to the new entry plaza space that serves this much needed space for the residents.
